Android 5.0 Lime Pie: new Features List of Android Lime Pie
Google Android 5.0 Lime Pie is coming out with a set of new features, aimed to take the usability and performance of Android OS to the whole new level.
Android Lime Pie is the next version of Android smartphone operating system, after Android 4.4 Kitkat coming out along with new Nexus 5 phone, as an update over Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version, released in July with Nexus 7 2013 tablet.
After the rival Blackberry 10 and Apple iOS7 next generation overhauls, a plenty of new Android LP Features are set to come out in the last quarter of 2014.
Naturally, Smartphone lovers all over the world, are anxious to know what the next major update to the number one mobile OS in the world has for them? what it will be called exactly? and when it is expected?

During 'Android Protips 3: Making Apps Work Like Magic' session, Reto Meier presented a slide showing an Android eating a piece of Lime Pie and later with a game where the options included Jelly Bean and Key Lime Pie.

Android Lime Pie Features List
Google is working on Android 5.0 under a code name of Lime Pie. Android Lime Pie features a new Kernel, Performance profiles with improved interface. We can’t wait to see how Google intends to maintain the pace of innovation with Android 5.0 which is sure to get major uplifts as compared to Android jelly bean 4.3- Android 5.0 Gesture Control Features
As we have seen in new Apple iOS 7, Android 5 LP features a major facelift and cosmetic changes. Google Android Lime Pie features new gesture based UI too, that is expected to do well with new kind of gesture control features sets available in the hardware of the newer flagship devices likes Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 3, htc ONE max, LG G2 and Motorola Moto X.
- New Kernel Support
At the beginning of the year we learned from Android central that Google was working on improving Linux 3.4 kernel to Linux 3.8. It will offer a lower memory footprint. If this is true then this feature will not miss in Android5. Kernel is important as it ensures perfect and lowered usage of the RAM guaranteeing better and improved levels of multitasking.
- Better Brighter Interface
Key lime Pie is sure to adopt a brighter user interface as compared to its predecessors perfect for easy maneuverability through the various operation of the phone. Google has finished providing its strategy of new refreshing style and tools by drifting away from the dark black colors that constituted the previous versions of their OS. The new OS will feature bright colors giving it more friendly and homogenous appearance.
- Lock Screen Widgets
Android 5.0 will also feature widgets for lock screen such as Dash lock. Lock screen widgets are aimed at making it easier for people to get important information from their phones without having to unlock their phones screen first
- Google Babble Feature
Google Babble (or Babel) is one forthcoming feature we expect to see in Android 5 Lime Pie, a messaging service that aims to unify the various Talk, Hangout, Voice, Messenger and Chat services.
According to reliable sources Android 5.0 will feature the Google Babble feature which will be the default broadcasting system for all news feedback to the user account. Google babble is geared at complimenting Google news services such as Google Talk, SMS, Google+ ad Google voice.
- Performance Profiles
A performance profile that allows one to change data and sound settings under different profiles is also expected to feature in Android 5.0. This feature is already in use in Android tablets running on jellybean thereby making it a great possibility that it will feature in Android 5.
- Video Calling App
Android 5.0 lime Pie is expected to feature new and better video conferencing capabilities. As at now all Android users are usually expected to download a third party app such as Skype or Tango in order to go on with video conferencing. This feature is expected to change with the development of a better and improved Video calling app capability. Other Smartphone’s such as Blackberry have made a success out of this feature.
- Text Message Synchronization
With the current versions of the Android Operating Software messages are usually not restored with the changing of devices or sim-cards. Google will have to improve on this by making messages available on the cloud just like how it happens with emails contacts, calendar and Gmail account.
- Multi Select Contacts Feature
The current option of the Android OS does not allow one to select a handful of friends for emailing or texting. This ought to be managed better with the new OS with a feature like a check-box that allows one to scroll through names and create a mailing list through the contact list.
