The smartphone giant of Taiwan, HTC is up against the American telecom powerhouse, Motorola. Ever since Google Android has taken over Motorola, we are seeing some really impressive looking touch phones coming from them. And so we took the new kid in town to battle it out by a brand that has defined Android as we know it. It is Motorola  Droid Bionic vs HTC Rezound also known as HTC Vigor, HTC ThunderBolt 2, HTC Droid Incredible HD, HTC ADR6425.

In terms of form factor, the Droid Bionic is 11 mm thick in comparison to Vigor’s 13.7 mm thickness. But he have to dig deeper to evaluate in real terms.  Let the games begin:

Motorola Droid Bionic vs HTC Rezound Processing Power

HTC Rezound– Dual Core 1.5 GHz Scorpion processor & Adreno 220
Droid Bionic – Dual Core 1 GHz Cortex A9 & ULP GeForce
We can blame the lower speed on Droid Bionic to the fact that its release was delayed for around 6 months or so. Not that its processor does not get the job done; it is however, not as fluid as Vigor. ULP GeForce GPU is also ageing in comparison to Adreno 220 GPU and is quite rarely found in any of the new smartphones. So the processing power winner is HTC Rezound (HTC Vigor).

Motorola Droid Bionic vs HTC Rezound Display Screen

HTC Rezound – 4.3 inches S-LCD capacitive touchscreen
Droid Bionic – 4.3 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen
In terms of display, we really enjoyed the HTC Vigor. It has better sunlight legibility in comparison to Droid Bionic and with HD performance, it rocked!

Motorola Droid Bionic vs HTC Rezound Camera

HTC Rezound– 8 MP, 3264 x 2448 pixels, dual LED flash & autofocus
Droid Bionic – 8 MP, 3264 x 2448 pixels, dual LED flash & autofocus
Cameras of both the phones were awesome. The color reproductions of Droid Bionic were slightly better and so was the result in dark with the dual LED flash. Even though HTC Rezound has 1.3 MP secondary cameras in comparison to Droid Bionic’s VGA, we still believe that Motorola Droid Bionic did show once again that HTC lacks the charisma of good cameras.

Motorola Droid Bionic vs HTC Rezound Battery

HTC Rezound– Li-Ion 1620 mAh
Droid Bionic – Li-Ion 1735 mAh
Motorola really bangs it hard on the face of HTC with a supreme battery yet once again. In comparison to Rezound’s 6 hours worth talk time, Droid Bionic tops with 10 hours.

Motorola Droid Bionic vs HTC Rezound Connectivity

As both are available over the Verizon Wireless services, they were fairly same in performance. Everything functioned fluently and we loved browsing as well as video streaming.

Motorola Droid Bionic vs HTC Rezound Android OS

HTC Rezound– Android OS, v2.3.4 Gingerbread
Droid Bionic – Android OS, v2.3.4 Gingerbread
We are in love with the Gingerbread OS by Android and since both are with the same operating system, so we couldn’t really consider any one as the winner. Even though the performance of this OS was better on Vigor, we reckon it was due to the processor.

Motorola Droid Bionic vs HTC Rezound Android Interface

We have started associating Android with HTC, most primarily due to their amazing looking user interface, which is purposeful and user friendly at the same time. With the state of the art HTC Sense user interface, HTC Rezoundwent sky high, while Droid Bionic kept wondering what happened! So the winner is HTC Rezound (HTC Vigor).

Motorola Droid Bionic vs HTC Rezound (HTC Vigor, ThunderBolt 2, Incredible HD) Final Verdict

With 3 to 2 score, Rezound (also known as HTC Vigor, HTC ThunderBolt 2, HTC Droid Incredible HD, HTC ADR6425) is the winner over Motorola Droid Bionic. Had the Droid Bionic come out earlier, the situation could have been different. But with HD display, better PPI as well as a faster CPU, Motorola learnt a tough lesson – never delay the launch of your smartphone as predators are on a lookout!
