Nokia has announced Nokia N9 MeeGo Harmattan, their new MeeGo Harmattan 1.2 (Maemo 6) based smart phone device. Nokia N9 Meego is a totally revamped comparatively, and has its (Maemo 6) OS is significantly better and feature rich when it come to comparison with predecessor Nokia N8 with lots of newer and better features as compared with N8 and even have better specifications.

The Nokia N9 Meego smartphone was official announced by Nokia just a few weeks ago in Singapore. Given the fact that Windows Phone will be the key focus for internal Nokia development, the N9 will actually be the first and last MeeGo smartphone from Nokia.

Nokia N9 MeeGo Harmattan 1.2 (Maemo 6) Mobile OS

MeeGo is a Linux-based open source mobile operating system project announced by Intel and Nokia at Mobile World Congress in February 2010, as a mixture of Nokia's Maemo and Intel Moblin. Later Aminocom, Novell and AMD also joined the project.

MeeGo is developed as an operating system for platforms like netbooks, thin desktops, nettops, tablet computers, mobile computing and communications devices, in-vehicle infotainment devices, SmartTV / ConnectedTV, IPTV-boxes, smart phones, and other embedded systems.

MeeGo Harmattan is the operating system once set to be launched as Nokia Maemo 6, before the MeeGo was born. Now Nokia has decided to brand it under MeeGo flag for the first time, with Nokia N9 MeeGo Harmattan.
