Sony has now officially announced the exact nature of their highly anticipated ‘PSN Welcome Back’ package for PS3 users as a result of the PlayStation Network Outage which annoyed gamers last month and badly tornished company's corporate image.
PS3 gamers now know what games they will be getting free, but are thet really happy about it is another question.
PS3 gamers will be offered a choice of Two Free Games from:
If you feel this applies to you, the one saving grace that you have, is that you’ll still be able to download as much content as you want from PlayStation Plus as soon as Sony goes live with the free 30 day subscription, so there’s still a good chance that you’re going to be happy with Sony’s Welcome Back Package.
What are your thoughts on the games that they are offering? Are you a bit disappointed that these are generally old PS3 games, or games that you may already own? We’ll inform you when Sony releases their PSN+ subscriptions.

I'd probably get Wideout Hd and Dead Nation..(was gonna get Dead Nation anyway). i have the other games...You're just thinking about getting Infamos NOW though? shoulds got that one went it came out. It's a great game...
ReplyDeleteI already have Dead Nation and inFamous. Its gonna be a tough choice of which 2 out of Little Big Planet, Wipeout HD, and Super Stardust HD because I've wanted to try all 3.

Sony is offering packages and timelines based on The Region.

Does that mean EVERYTHING is free for a little while when it says we can download as much content as we want from the playstation store? Or what does that mean?

The fact of the matter is PlayStation 3 and PSP Gamers will get to pick ONLY FEW titles to download and keep.
LittleBigPlanet, inFamous, Wipeout HD Ratchet and Clank free games offered to PS3 gamer. But you can download ANY TWO of these for free from the PlayStation Store, unless you are in Germany, where inFamous and Dead Nation are replaced with Super Stardust HD and Hustle Kings.
For PSP gamers, your selection will be even more limited. The 4 games offered are LittleBigPlanet, ModNation Racers, Pursuit Force and Killzone Liberation. Again, you can get MAXIMUM TWO games of your choice among the offered ones (For Germany you get Golf2 and Jungle Party inplace of Pursuit Force and Killzone).
Soney has also offered gamers 30 free days of its PlayStation Plus membership, and 60 free days to existing subscribers, which gives you bonus features like free and discounted games, automatic downloads and cloud storage for save files.
Existing Music Unlimited subscribers will be given 30 days’ free subscription, and there will be some gratis virtual doodads in PlayStation Home.

I have gone to the PSN Store and when I go to LBP, it states it 7.99 and not free, 21.99 for PSP? Anyone know why this is?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I just went on PSN store, and inFAMOUS is still 29.99. How do we get our free games? I was so excited when I heard about inFAMOUS being free, and theres no noticable way to get these games. I expected a menu to pop up or something saying: Pick your two free games,or, something. At least the inFAMOUS 2 demo is out.
ReplyDeleteSorry all, I just check online about the free games, it's apparently still in the final testing, so they don't accidentally just get one game, or all the games free. It hopefully will be up soon, so for now, just chill your pants and enjoy the new additions for now.
ReplyDeleteI just got an email today from PSN offering the free games and the subscription, so I guess you will get something soon also to let you know how to download the games and get your free subscription. But I was only offered inFAMOUS, Dead Nation, Super Stardust and Little Big Planet for the PS3, and 4 other games for the PSP.

ReplyDeleteHow annoying is this!?! playstation goes down for over a month, sacrifices our personal information, and then gives us 2 old games to download (which most of us already have anyway.) WEAK playstation... see ya Sony, i'm going to X box.
I downloaded Wipeout and went to download Dead Nation and it wont let me. Wipeout has Wipeout Fury as an add on, but only advertised as one game. Are they counting this as two??? If so CHEATS!!!
ReplyDeleteAs one of previous posts, look in download history, game need a manual start for installing. I couldnt find Wipeout when I downloaded and found it in here and had to manually prompt the install.
recently bought new hdd, went to re-download dead nation, and i cant find it newhere!!! THE HACKERS WORK FOR MICROSOFT, AND THEYVE PLANTED AN INVISIBLE BUG IN SONYS NETWORK!!! THE YANK F$$$ERS!!!
