iPad 2 India Launched for Price 29500 to 46900 Rs with Wi-Fi and 3G Mobile
Apple iPad 2 hit Indian Market on Friday April 29, 2011. It is just over a month after the company started selling the updated version of its popular tablet device in the United States.
The exciting iPad 2, a thinner and faster version of iPad that features two cameras for video chat, is priced between Rs 29,500 and Rs 46,900, depending on the model and the Memory capacity i.e 16, 32 or 64 GB.
The model with 16 GB of memory that works only on Wi-Fi is priced at Rs 29,500, while the one that can operate on both Wi-Fi as well as 3G Mobile Networks costs Rs 36,900.
Customers have the option to buy an iPad 2 with 16, 32 or 64 GB of memory and can choose a model that works only on Wi-Fi or on both Wi-Fi and 3G.
The first iPad, which went on sale a year ago, sold 300000 units on the opening day, 500000 in the first week, and crossed the 1 million unit sale mark within first month. Research firm IHS iSuppli estimates Apple will ship 39.7 million units for all models of the iPad 2 year 2011 worldwide.
But as far as India is concerned, the availability of iPad 2 in India, went out of stocks! even on the launch day. According to the Apple Customer Support and the Apple Premium partners, Apple is working on availability of the product, but the second shipment would come only after 10 days. According to store sales representative at Imagine, one of the Apple premium resellers at Bangalore, they had received about 120 units of iPad 2.

We started taking the pre-order around 12 hours prior to the launch and given the huge demand out there, the entire stock of 120 units got over within a day. The second slot of delivery is expected in 10 days.Here under is the Apple Customer Sales Support response on this inquiry:
At present the products is available with Apple Premium Resellers and a few large format retailers. However, Apple lovers can place an order by paying 20 per cent of the price of the products in advance.Madhu Madhavan, CEO and MD at Cubic Computing, enterprise reseller for Apple product in India said:

While the Wi-Fi variant of the device hits stores today across Japan, it will advent in India, Malaysia, Macau, Hong Kong, Israel, Korea, South Africa, Singapore, Turkey, UAE and Philippines tomorrow. The Wi-Fi version of the device is also expected to enter the Chinese territory on May 6, 2011.
