Intel Core i7 990X Extreme Edition Launched with Price Cut for Core i7 960/970

iTechWhiz (Feb 15, 2011) - Intel has finally released its latest CPU which belongs to its LGA 1366 Extreme Edition Family, The Core i7 990X Extreme Edition. The new CPU is a Gulftown based Processor made using a 32nm process. Other than the launch of the new CPU, Intel also announced huge price cuts on two of its i7 Processors (i7 970 and i7 960).

The price of the new processor as stated by Intel is 999$ however Newegg has listed it for 1049.99$. Another news is that Intel has announced price cuts on its currently available CPU’s which includes the six-core Core i7-970 (12MB of L3-cache) has dropped from US $885 to US $583 while the 45nm Core i7-960 quad-core (8MB of L3-cache) has dropped from US $562 to an incredible US $294.
